(KPL)Laos-China cooperation continues to grow(part 2)

(KPL) On 11-12 November, 2000, H.E Jiang Zemin, Secretary General of the Communist Party of China and President of the People�s Republic of China paid a goodwill visit to Laos. Six cooperation agreements were signed during his visit to Laos.

On 3-7 February, 2002, H.E Bounnhang Vorachit, Prime Minister paid an official working visit to China and 5 cooperation agreements were signed during his visit. On 12-14 June, 2003, H.E Khamtay Siphandone, Secretary General of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and President of the Lao PDR paid a goodwill visit to China and two important documents were signed as a result. The coordination committee on northern parts of Laos and Yunnan province was established in October 2004.

On 17-19 March, 2004, H.E Wu Yi, Deputy Prime Minister of China paid an official visit to Laos and signed five important agreements with Lao side. On 28-30 November 2004, H.E Wen Jiapao, Prime Minister of China paid a working visit to Laos and signed five important documents.

In December 2005, H.E Samane Viyakhet, President of the National Assembly paid an official visit to China and signed one important document. Between June 26 and July 2, 2006, H.E Choummaly Sayasone, Secretary General of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and President of the Lao PDR paid a state visit to China. his visit witnessed the signing of three important documents.

On 19-20 November, 2006, H.E Hu Jintao, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Commun ist Party of China (CPC) and Chinese President visited Laos. His visit resulted in the signing of 10 important cooperation documents by high ranking officials of the two countries.

On 22-28 August, 2007, H.E Bouasone Bouphavanh, Prime Minister of the Lao PDR paid visited China and signed 7 important cooperation agreements. On 29-30 March, 2008, H.E Wen Jiapao, Prime Minister of China visited Laos and signed several cooperation agreements.

On 15-21 June, 2008, H.E Mr. Choummaly Sayasone, Secretary General of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and Lao President paid a private visit to China he and host officials discussed and agreed to further enhance the cooperation between the two countries based on potentials in their respective countries to develop 7 big projects in Laos and agreed to cooperate to build a joint master plan on economic cooperation between Laos and China as a fundamental for the implementation of the big projects and for the comprehensive cooperation between Laos and China between 2010 and 2014.

On 13-15 November, 2008, H.E Zhang Gaoli, the CPC Central Committee Political Bureau, member of Tianjin Municipal Party Committee Secretary visited Laos and signed three important documents and presented some of resources for purchasing of agricultural machines and office equipments to the Government Office.

On 1-2 December, 2008, H.E Jia Qinglin, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) paid a working visit to Laos and signed six important cooperation agreements.

On 6-13 September, 2009, H.E Choummaly Sayasone, Secretary General of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and Lao President visited China and met with H.E Hu Jiatao, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and Chinese President. 8 important documents were signed during President Sayasone�s visit.

On 19-20 March, 2010, Chinese Vice Premier Hui Liangyu visited Laos and signed five cooperation agreements. On 15-16 March, 2010, Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping paid a visit to Laos and signed 18 important documents. On 27-29 May, 2012, H.E Thongsing Thammavong, LPRP CC Politburo member and Prime Minister of the Lao PDR paid a working visit to the People�s Republic of China.

Since the establishment of Laos-China diplomatic ties, the Laos has already sent 10 ambassadors to China while the Chinese government has sent 11 ambassadors to Laos.

In addition, high ranking delegations of the two countries have exchanged visits to each other. This has contributed significantly to the cooperation between Laos and China and became a model of international cooperation.
